In September, A Day in the Life participated at the careers event at The English School, with mentors from diverse fields offering valuable insights and practical advice to students. The event was met with positive feedback, as it helped students explore various career options and gain a clearer understanding of the professional world.
Sara Eojourian, a professional in banking and finance, shared her personal career journey and offered advice on overcoming challenges such as gender bias and finding success in a competitive industry.
Yiannis Theodorou, a Senior Advisor in Digital Transformation at the Tony Blair Institute for Global Change, engaged students with his story of working with global leaders on impactful digital policy initiatives, stressing the importance of adaptability, networking, and embracing failure.
With mentors sharing real-life experiences, challenges, and triumphs, students were able to envision themselves in roles they may not have considered before. Both speakers emphasised the importance of skills over titles, the value of extracurricular activities and the ever-evolving nature of career paths in today’s world.
A Day in the Life remains dedicated to its mission of guiding young individuals toward fulfilling careers and helping them unlock their potential regardless of their background.
